‘the Garden Isle” is famed for its diverse and scenic wonders as well as its laidback atmosphere. Witness the 40 foot thundering Opaekaa Falls, one of the 100 waterfalls in Kauai; hike through tropical vegetation or the numerous trails in Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific); take a cruise or a helicopter to Na Pali Coast, the sheer, towering cliffs; go snorkelling, diving or horseback riding. With so much natural beauty, it is no surprise that Kauai has been used as a film location for many movies including: Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Elvis’ Blue Hawaii. Kauai’s other distinction is its accommodation, which is built no taller than the coconut trees, harmonising with the tropical surroundings. There are three well-known lodging areas. Wailua area (Kapaa and Lihue) is central making it ideal to get around the island. Poipu located in the south is considered the sunny side with wide, sandy beaches whilst Princeville has green mountains as a backdrop and beaches with gentle waves.

"The Big Island" The largest and the least populated of the Hawaiian archipelago, Hawaii – also known as the Big Island – is still growing everyday as its active volcano, Kilauwa sends lava down to the ocean 4000 feet below in an awesome display of nature’s majesty. With its sheer size, the island presents amazing contrasts: massive black lava fields, ancient temples, snow-capped Mauna Loa, rainforests, coffee plantations and uncrowded beaches. The West Coast with more sunshine is a popular choice for accommodation, which are usually clustered in pocket communities. Kona is the biggest town on the Island with many restaurants and shops. Keauhou, south of Kona was an important Hawaiian settlement site and has one of the island’s best snorkelling spots where sea turtles come in to feed during high tide. Waikoloa/Kohala Coast to the north offers spectacular resorts and brilliantly green golf courses carved out of the black volcanic rock.
